Gov AbdulRazaq appoints white paper committees for CoEDs

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appointed white paper committees to dissect the reports of the Visitation Panels to the three public Colleges of Education and recommend to the government some specific course of action to change the fortune of the schools. The Governor had in October 2023 named the visitation panels to Colleges of Education Oro, Ilorin, and Lafiagi (Technical). The panels, which visited the different schools, submitted their reports in January 2024. SANITATION EXERCISE TO HOLD ON SATURDAY

This is to inform members of the public that the  sanitation exercise for this month will come up on Saturday, 24th February, 2024 starting from seven to nine o'clock (7:00 am to 9:00 am) in the morning. Residents of the State are hereby enjoined to fully participate in the exercise, by cleaning both residential and business environments.   Members of the public are to note that there will be no vehicular and human movement across the state during the exercise. Waste Management trucks will be made available for waste collections and subsequent disposal of same at the dump site of the metropolis. Also, some of the illegal dump site in some major areas will be cleared. Kindly note that, it is an offence to dump refuse on pedestrian walkways, road median, drainages, canals and all other unapproved dump sites. ... releases public health advisory guidelines Following a reported case of Avian Influenza in kebbi State, North Western part of Nigeria, the Kwara State Government has alerted the general public of the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), also known as bird flu. This was contained in a public health advisory issued by the Director of Veterinary Services, Ministry for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Abdulateef Salman Olugbon, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Tpl. Ishiaq Yinka Oloruko-oba today. According to the public health advisory, the public, most especially the poultry farmers and bird owners, are advised to implement strict biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of the virus into the state. KWSG REITERATES COMMITMENT TO ERADICATING FGM

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has reiterated the State's commitment to eradicating Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), disclosing that the Violence Against Persons bill has been implemented in the State.    Governor AbdulRazaq stated this at the commemoration of the 2024 International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation and unveiling of the State-led Plan of Action to End Female Genital Mutilation, which took place at Princess Luxury Hotel, Ilorin, in collaboration with the UNICEF.
