Olukoju harps on good storytelling, documentation, as Kwara govt trains media practitioners

Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon Bola Olukoju on Thursday charged public office holders and media professionals in the state to prioritise documentation of events for the sake of credibility, transparency, and future referencing. The Commissioner was speaking in Ilorin during the closing ceremony of a five-day training on documentary production of project achievements and impact, organized by the state Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (Kwara L-PRES) in partnership with the FOUR ICONS Premium Limited. The Kwara State Government has inaugurated  Local Government Sanitation Task Group to coordinate sanitation at the grassroots with a view to promoting healthier living environment across the 16 Local Government Areas in the state. The State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon Yinusa Lade, who oversees the inauguration of the Group by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), applauded the Agency for its foresight at setting up the Local Government Task Group on Sanitation (LTGS). KWSG Presents Modern Ultrasound Equipment to KWASUTH

In a bid to enhance the capacity of Kwara State University Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, in order to provide sound and quality healthcare delivery, the Kwara State Government has again presented modern an Ultrasound equipment, capable of providing 24 hours services to the hospital.  The Chief Medical Director, Dr Bola Ahmed who was represented by the Chairman Medical Advisory Council, Dr Idowu Ogunlaja disclosed this in ILORIN today, during the presentation ceremony, at the hospital premises. The Kwara State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, has called for a deliberate cultural shift to eliminate traditional barriers that hinder women’s participation in politics and leadership. She emphasized that entrenched cultural and societal norms should no longer be used as excuses to sideline women from contributing meaningfully to governance and public life. Building Projects: MHUD Commissioner Charges Staff on Proper Monitoring

The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunsola, has charged staff of the Ministry to intensify supervision of all ongoing building projects in the state to ensure contractors deliver quality work to the state government.  The Commissioner gave the charge on Tuesday during a review of the Ministry's activities at a management meeting held in his office. Dr. Ogunsola expressed displeasure with delays noticed at some project sites, stating that no excuse would be considered for poor performance.  He stressed that the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, would not accept shoddy work from contractors, emphasizing the need for value for money spent on projects. LG Projects Inspection: Commissioner Rates Isin, Irepodun Councils High

Isin and Irepodun Local Government Councils in the Kwara South Senatorial districts of the State have been rated high over the implementation of capital projects with far reaching impacts on citizens. The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata  stated this in a separate inspection assessment of the ongoing second phase of the projects monitoring at the Councils. Hon. Bata, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Iyabo Modupe and Directors from the Ministry, disclosed that the monitoring was to assess the impact of the projects done and expressed satisfaction over the work done, urging other Councils yet to be visited to hasten up their work. The Kwara State Ease of Doing Business Council (EODBC) has organized a two-day sensitization workshop for stakeholders across different layers on the newly established Small Claims Court (SCC) in the State. The workshop, which commenced on Monday and ended on Tuesday, was organised in collaboration with the Kwara State High Court of Justice. It was attended by the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Ayodele Adebara; local government chairmen and vice chairmen; senior government officials; magistrates; legal practitioners; top bureaucrats; and leaders of marketers’ associations. New Code of Conduct Designed For KUFC Players

A new Code of Conduct has been designed for Kwara United Football Club players, to further instill discipline in them. The Chairman of the Club, Mr Kumbi Titiloye disclosed this today,  when he paid a visit to Kwara State Sports Commission (KSSC), Executive Chairman, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji at George Innih Stadium Complex, Ilorin, the state capital,  following the triumph of the team in the President Federation Cup in Lagos.  Mr Titiloye therefore warned the players to desist from moral decadence and other forms of ignoble actions, capable of giving Kwara United Football Club a bad name.
