KWASSIP, IVTEC to collaborate on youth empowerment


The General Manager, Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), Dr Abdulwasiu Olayinka Tejidini, has reiterated the Agency's commitment to empowering young people in the State through vocational skills acquisition and entrepreneurship programmes across the State.

Dr Tejidini stated this during a collaboration visit to his office by the management of International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), Ajase-Ipo, Kwara State.

Tejidini, who described the visit as timely, noted that strategic collaboration among government agencies and training institutions is essential to addressing youth unemployment and also promoting economic self- reliance.

According to him, KWASSIP remains focused on creating opportunities that equip young people with skills, entrepreneurship knowledge and also the capacity to contribute meaningfully to the state

The General Manager added that the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has consistently prioritised youth empowerment through various social investment initiatives designed to improve livelihoods and also foster sustainable development 

Earlier, the acting Registrar of IVTEC, Mrs Eniola Orire, mentioned that the proposed collaboration would help provide quality training and support services for young people. 

Orire also commended KWASSIP for its impactful social intervention programmes. She expressed confidence that the collaboration between the two institutions will give youth opportunities to acquire employable skills and become successful entrepreneurs
