The Kwara State Government has officially handed over two revitalized primary health care facilities to benefiting communities in Ifelodun and Ilorin West Local Government Areas respectively. The handover ceremonies took place at the premises of the newly revitalized Primary Health Care Centres, Ganmo and Balogun Alanamu, amid excitement and appreciation from members of the host communities. While the Balogun Alanamu facility was handed over on Monday, the Ganmo facility was officially presented to the community last Friday. The Kwara State Government today flagged off the 2026 Hajj operation exercise with the airlift of the first batch of 374 intending pilgrims alongside three officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to Saudi Arabia. A member of the Board, Alhaji Mahmud Bube led the 374 intending pilgrims that the MaxAir aircraft conveyed and departed the Babatunde Idi-Agbon International Airport, Ilorin, at about 3p.m. Speaking with journalists at the airport, the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji AbdulKadri Abdulsalam, advised intending pilgrims to be law-abiding and conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of the state and Nigeria while in Saudi Arabia. 930 Kwara Intending Pilgrims Airlifted to Saudi Arabia in Two Batches

The first batch of intending pilgrims from Kwara State has safely arrived in Medina, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the 2026 Hajj exercise. The 374 intending pilgrims were airlifted aboard a MaxAir flight from the Babatunde Idi-Agbon International Airport, Ilorin, departed at exactly 3:00pm on Wednesday. The report further indicates that the second batch of 556 intending pilgrims also departed Ilorin aboard another MaxAir flight at about 2:00 a.m. on Thursday. With the successful airlift of the two batches, a total of 930 intending pilgrims from Kwara State had so far been transported to Saudi Arabia for this year’s pilgrimage.  Kwara State Government has commenced registration and data capturing for 100 full scholarship beneficiaries admitted into the Community Midwifery Programme at the Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ilorin, under the European Union Strengthening Access to Reproductive Health (EU SARAH) Initiative.
