Kwara State Government Agriculture Development Through Indigent Farmers Empowerment

Image
*By SANGODARE AYINLA*  Thrilling account after three years of governance and a tale of accountability and justice in  stewardship are what comes to mind whenever the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in Kwara State comes under the radar.  Three years after the launch of the O-to ge-inclined administration, it has not been  business-as-usual in the economic life of the state. That Mallam AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq administration outshines administrations of sixteen years that Kwarans had had in the past is an acknowledgement of the magnitude of the achievements recorded within the period. Those achievements- noticeable in education, health, water sector, energy, sports, judiciary, agriculture, commerce, works, and others- are enormous and they speak for the governor everywhere; hence, the presence of the government is visible in every nook and cranny of the state. For citizens and residents, it’s three years of bountiful harvests, it’s a glaring departure from

Tertiary Education: Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq The Game Changer

Image
By Mansurat Amuda-Kannike Prior to the inauguration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration, tertiary institutions in Kwara State were in a state of comatose, due to the lackadaisical attitude of previous administrations. From the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, to those in Lafiagi and Oro, to  College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), and the Colleges of Nursing and Midwifery in Ilorin and Oke-Ode, there were painful stories of strikes, non-payment of staff salaries, infrastructural decay and inability to secure accreditation for programmes, among others. By Abiola Ameenat Atere The education sector in Kwara State has never had it this good; especially since the return of Nigeria to democratic governance on 29th May, 1999. Before Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration came on board three years ago, there was a big rot in the primary education sector. The State had become a serial defaulter in meeting critical counterpart funding obligations that could drive that education sector to success.  The State thus became a pariah of sorts. Dilapidated classrooms, outdated teaching and learning aids, as well as poor morale of teachers in the primary education sector in our dear State.  However, over the last three years, a new lease of life is being witnessed in Kwara, especially with the unprecedented milestones recorded in the improvement of basic education, teaching and learning in the State.  Thus became achievable because Governor AbdulRazaq, as a man of honour, effected the State’s obligation to Universal Ba

The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, has described the three years of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's administration as a liberating one.   Towoju, who gave the assertion today while speaking with newsmen, stated that the governor has been consistent in delivering the dividends of democracy to all Kwarans, irrespective of age, tribe, or political affiliations. In his words, "Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has proven himself to be a true liberator. He came into power at a time when the good people of Kwara State needed a change from status quo. They needed a messiah.  "Governor AbdulRazaq came to hear the yearnings of his people. He not only heard them, ever since the people came together in  2019 to massively vote for him as their governor, he has been performing exceptionally well. "He has been providing basic amenities for the people, our healthcare is recording unprecedented achievements, we can boast of our publi
