KWGIS REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO PARTNER NIOB ON SAFE BUILDING

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KwaraGIS), ESV. Abdulkareem Babatunde Sulyman has stated the readiness of the Agency to partner with the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB), Kwara State Chapter, to ensure adherence to best global practices in the building sector. He described NIOB as the only training and professional body for builders in Nigeria, recognised by the regulatory body, the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON). In its bid to expedite the implementation of the project development objective of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project in the 10 selected communities for the Community Revolving Fund (CRF) implementation in the State, the KWACReSAL has embarked on a training exercise for Community Revolving Fund Management Committees (CRFMC), Community Business Agents (CBAs), Community Board of Trustees( CBOTs) and Community Interest Groups Executives. The Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik stated this today during the inspection of the installation of the solar inverters at Omupo Cottage Hospital in Ifelodun local government Area of the State. KWSG WARNS PRINCIPALS AGAINST UNNECESSARY CHARGES, EXAM MALPRACTICES

The Kwara State Government has warned Principals of Senior Secondary Schools across the state against illegal charges for National Examination Council (NECO) registration for prospective students that will write 2025 examination and urged them to desist from any form of examination malpractices. The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa'adatu Modibbo Kawu, gave the warning recently during the floating exercise which marks the commencement of year 2025 registration for Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) at Saint Anthony's Secondary School, Ilorin. KWFRC MONITORS ONGOING PROJECTS

The Kwara State Fiscal Responsibility Commission (KWFRC) has met with the State Ministry of Works to monitor projects in the State and ascertain compliance with fiscal discipline, ensuring that public funds are used judiciously.    The Chairman of the Commission, Barr. Abubakar Othman, wondered why the projects have not been completed yet, urging the contractors to ensure timely completion of the projects before their next visit. Mrs. Oluwole passed away on Wednesday night after a protracted illness. The delegation comprised all serving Permanent Secretaries, Directors, and other senior management staff in the state civil service. They were received by the elder sister of the late HoS, Alhaja Yetunde Muslimat Adebowale, at the family’s residence, popularly known as White House, in the Fate-Basin area of Ilorin. Kwara State Government Promotes Over 2,000 Civil Servants

  The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the release of the 2023 promotion letters to eligible civil servants in the state. The Permanent Secretary of the State Civil Service Commission, Hajia Kifayat Jimoh, disclosed this today, March 6, 2025, in Ilorin, the state capital. According to the Permanent Secretary, a total of 2,094 out of 2,122 candidates who sat for the promotion examination were successful. She expressed the Commission's appreciation to the Governor for graciously approving the distribution of the promotion letters and urged the promoted civil servants to rededicate themselves to service in order to enhance the government's objective of effective service delivery to the people of the state. KWSG Reaffirms Commitment to ODF Status, March Ending

The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to ending open defecation even as Oke-Ero Local Government Area of the State is an open defecation free status, by March ending, this year.  The Desk Officer for Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Oke-Ero Mrs. Rachael Babatunde reaffirmed this at Oke-Ero Local Government secretariat, Iloffa, during the week. The Desk Officer assured the community that Water Sanitation and Hygiene Committee members are fully committed to completing the task by the end of this month.
