The attention of the Kwara State Government has been drawn to reports that women in Baruten Local Government Area (LGA) are being charged ₦1,500 for registration in the ongoing P-BAT Empowerment Program.  This program, aimed at providing support to vulnerable women across the 16 LGAs of Kwara State, is a key initiative designed to mitigate the effects of subsidy removal and empower our citizens. We wish to categorically state that the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs in collaboration with Kwara State Ministry of Women Affairs mandated that this registration is to be conducted free of charge. Kwara Court convicts 40 Ilorin residents for improper refuse dump, illegal scavenging

A Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday sentenced 40 persons to a 3-month jail term each for violation of the Kwara State Environmental Law. The defendants, who are residents of Ilorin, were arraigned on different charges ranging from indiscriminate disposal of refuse, encroachment, and illegal scavenging. They all pleaded guilty to the offenses. Presiding Magistrate Saidu Tunde Abdulkareem sentenced the defendants to 3 month imprisonment each, with an option of 50,000 fine, in line with the provisions of section 5 subsection 1- 4 of the State Environmental Law. Thirty-one of the defendants were arrested for indiscriminate disposal of refuse, while nine were apprehended for illegal scavenging, the Court held. Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Thursday presented 250 sets of desktop computers to Igbaja Computer Based Training (CBT) Centre in Ifelodun Local Government to support Igbaja community and ease the sitting for JAMB and other CBT examinations by school children.
