Women Affairs Ministry Resuscitates Weekly Sanitation Exercise
In a bid to maintain a clean environment, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Chief (Mrs) Oluwakemi Opeyemi Afolashade, has resuscitated the weekly Wednesday sanitation exercise in the Ministry.
Addressing the staff today after the exercise, the Commissioner, who was represented by the Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Ubandawaki, noted that even though the exercise was not new in the Ministry, it was imperative to revive the exercise so that staff can maintain a clean and healthy environment, which would positively impact on their well-being.
Chief Afolashade explained that “the exercise will be continuous, as ‘cleanliness is next to godliness’ and engaging in the sanitation exercise will set Ministry of Women Affairs apart from other Ministries, Departments and Agencies.”
The Commissioner further noted that “apart from the weekly exercise, the Ministry will also begin the weekly aerobic exercise so that we can all keep fit and exercise our muscles; so let us endeavour to adopt these changes.”
The Director, Child Directorate, Hajia Idiat Alabi, commended the staff for their compliance towards keeping the environment clean, saying that subsequent sanitation exercise will start from the offices.
