Projects Execution: L.G Commissioner Commends Ilorin East
The management team of Ilorin East Local Government Council of Kwara State has been commended for acceding to the yearnings and aspirations of communities in the execution of people- oriented projects.
The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftancy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata gave the commendation at the ongoing second phase of project inspections at the Ilorin East Local Government Council Areas.
The projects included the construction of four compartment toilets at Okesuna Area of Zango ward, installation and energizing of 300 KVA transformer at Mubo community of Magaji Are II, construction of box culvert and concrete drain at Soro II area of Balogun Gambari II and ongoing construction of upper Area court at Akerebiata of Ibagun ward, among others.
The Commissioner, disclosed that he was very elated with the impact and show of appreciation by the beneficiaries, attributing the Council's success to the leadership style of Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq's non interference in the administration of Local Governments in the State.
According to the Commissioner, the Ministry will visit all the sixteen Councils to conduct on - the - spot assessment of projects and assess their impacts on benefitting communities. He thanked the Executive Chairman for the support to security agencies, which could be attested to by the relative peace across the Council.
Earlier in his submission, the Executive Chairman, of Ilorin East LGA, Hon. Lukman Olayinka Agbelere congratulated Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq for his giant strides in the provision of dividends of democracy to citizens and thanked the Commissioner for inspecting the newly executed projects under the second phase of projects.
Speaking on the project executions, the Executive Chairman disclosed that some of the projects under the phase one, which were nearly completed were corrected based on the observations and recommendations of the Commissioner during his earlier inspection.
Hon. Agbelere also disclosed that all the projects embarked on for the second phase had been completed, except the ongoing construction of the new upper area court at Akerebiata, adding that every necessary arrangement had been put in place to ensure the speedy completion of the court and the provision of necessary furniture for its operation.
Other projects executed were the installation and energizing of 200 KVA transformer at Adelu village, provision of medical equipment and drugs to the newly completed Maya primary health care centre, construction of two compartment toilets for the NYSC at the Council Secretariat, provision of hand pump borehole at Ilaga village at Oke - Oyi and sinking of a solar powered borehole at Ile Tambaya of Magaji Are I, among others.
On the entourage of the Commissioner for the inspection were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Iyabo Modupe Adekeye; Director, Local Government Affairs, Mrs Akande Christiana; Controller of Finance and Account, Hajia Zainab Awodi, among other inspectorate team of the Ministry.
