Mass Housing Scheme: KWSG Pledges Commitment to Reducing Housing Deficit

In continuation of land acquisition for the Federal Government's 100 housing units across all Local Government Areas of the Federation, the Kwara State Government has extended its consultation to Kaiama and Baruten Local Government Areas of the state. 

The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunsola, who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaja Risikat Abdulazeez, and experts from the Ministry and Kwara State Geographical Information Service, recently inspected and assessed the land released to the government in each of the two communities selected for the Renewed Hope Federal Mass Housing Project in Kaiama and Baruten Local Government Areas, respectively.

Speaking at the palace of Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Shehu Omar, the Commissioner conveyed the appreciation of Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to the monarch for the support and cooperation enjoyed from the people of Kaiama. 

He informed that the state government is in partnership with the federal government to reduce the housing deficit in the state, in line with his promises to the people of the state. 

Dr. Ogunsola assured that the project would have a significant impact on the people of Kaiama and the state at large when completed and appealed to the people for more support for the AbdulRazaq-led administration, stressing that no stone would be left unturned to improve the lives of citizens.

Responding on behalf of the Emir of Kaiama, the Waziri Kaiama, Alhaji Adamu Gene, commended Governor AbdulRazaq for the positive transformation in the state, adding that the people of Kaiama would continue to support the state government to achieve its purpose-driven transformative programmes.

At Ilesha-Baruba, the Commissioner was received by the Emir of Ilesha-Baruba, Professor Halidu Abubakar, who expressed appreciation to the government for choosing the town for the federal government project. 

The Emir said that the project would complement the Kwara State University, Ilesha-Baruba campus, which was newly completed by the present administration, as well as open up the area to more development. 

He assured the state government of the people's unflinching support for its programmes and policies, saying the community is open to activities that would have meaningful impact on the area.

The consultation and assessment tour of the 16 Local Government Areas of the state for the mass housing project continues, with the team set to visit Babanloma in Ifelodun; Patigi and Lafiagi in Patigi and Edu Local Government Areas, respectively.
