LOIB Empowerment Initiative, Equips Girls with Vocational Skills in Kwara

In a move to promote skill acquisition and reduce youth unemployment, the LOIB Empowerment Initiative has empowered three outstanding female learners with sewing machines as part of its vocational training programme.

The initiative, aimed at equipping young people with practical skills, focuses on areas such as fashion design, leatherwork, and entrepreneurship. By providing the necessary tools and support, LOIB hopes to prepare beneficiaries for sustainable careers and business ventures.

Speaking at the empowerment ceremony held at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development in Ilorin today, the Executive Director of the Agency for Mass Education, Mallam Yusuf Saka represented by the Head of the Department of Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr. Hanafi Ishaq commended the initiative's impact on youth development.

Mallam Saka also expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his unwavering commitment to the eradication of illiteracy and the empowerment of citizens through vocational education. He noted that such efforts play a vital role in enhancing the socio-economic capacity of the State.

He added that LOIB empowerment Initiative is investing in the future of girls by adult learning, empowering them to be self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to economic growth of the State, urging the beneficiaries to make use of the machines judiciously and create their own businesses to achieve the mission and vision of LOIB.

The LOIB empowerment Initiative is a non-profit organization committed to transforming lives and providing essential resources and skills development to children and young women.

Earlier in her address, the Founder and Executive Director of LOIB Empowerment Initiative Mrs Love Ajagbe Ayankola, thanked the State government and the State Agency for Mass Education for their support and for giving them the opportunity to empower the best among their trainees.

Mrs. Ayankola added that the initiative was specifically targeted at girls and women, providing them with the opportunity to develop valuable skills, gain independence and contribute to the development of the State and their immediate communities.

The trainees and their parents expressed great excitement over the opportunity provided to them, which would empower them to become self-reliant and build prosperous future them.
