KWSG Kick-Starts Land Acquisition for FG Mass Housing Scheme in 16 LGAs

The Kwara State Government has kick-started the mapping and acquisition of land for the Federal Government's 100 housing units to be built in 774 Local Government Areas across the country.

The project, which is part of the Federal Mass Housing Scheme under President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, is in partnership with the Kwara State Government to facilitate access to quality and affordable shelter for all Kwarans.

Speaking with traditional rulers and community leaders of the designated areas for the federal intervention project, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunsola, who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaja Risikat Abdulazeez, and experts from both the Ministry and Kwara Geographical Information Service (KWGIS), described the tour as a critical phase in implementing the laudable scheme meant to meet the housing needs of citizens.

Dr. Ogunsola thanked the communities for their support and cooperation with the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration and stressed that the government is unwavering in its effort to make life more meaningful for citizens.

The Commissioner assured that the project would have direct and significant benefits on the lives of people in the earmarked areas and boost housing opportunities in the state at large.

Responding, some of the community leaders appreciated the state government's efforts to reposition the state while appealing for increased patronage of local business operators to provide services needed during project execution.
