KWSG PARTNERS TIC TO FOSTER ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The Kwara State Government has partnered the Technology Incubation Centre under the Federal Ministry of Science, Innovation and Technology, Ilorin, to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the State.

The Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, stated this over the weekend during a working visit to the Technology Incubation Centre in Ilorin.

Hon. Damilola commended the efforts of the centre at promoting Entrepreneurship and training of potential Entrepreneurs, saying that the working visit marks the beginning of a fruitful collaboration with the Technology Incubation Centre for future initiatives.
 
The Commissioner noted that the State government is supporting and encouraging entrepreneurship as well as creating jobs through the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) for its citizenry, noting that the visit demonstrates the State government's dedication to drive economic growth and innovation in Kwara State.

While inspecting the available facilities and interacting with startup Entrepreneurs engaged with Officials of the centre, Hon. Damilola shared her vision for a vibrant entrepreneurship in Kwara State.

She enjoined the Entrepreneurs to be dedicated, focused and consistent in their products in order to achieve success.

Earlier, the Manager, Technology Incubation Centre, under the Federal Ministry of Science, Innovation and Technology, Ilorin, Engr. AbudulFatai Yusuf, thanked the present administration for creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the State. 

The Manager appreciated the Commissioner and her entourage for the familiarisation visit, explaining that the potential Entrepreneurs, who are still undergoing supervision in the centre, are in the centre for Pre-training Programmes for Entrepreneurs.  
 
Engr. Kolawole highlighted that the centre is saddled with responsibilities such as capacity building to enhance the skills of Entrepreneurs and Innovators; pairing startups with experienced mentors from the centre; exploring funding opportunities for startups and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the State; among others.

In the entourage were the Director, Industry, Hajia Rabiat Bola Salaudeen; Head of Unit, Mallam Sulyman Salamam; Desk Officer, Industry, Mrs. Oyedepo Opeyemi.
